Advertising Sale Executive

Printed and online magazines, journals and booklets


Office based. Location: Kettering.

Full time – 37.5 hours (Mon-Fri 9-5). School hours considered.

£14 – £19k (dependant upon experience) plus commission.

Work place pension scheme (Optional apprenticeship opportunity available).


Sales experience is not necessarily required as training will be given.


Essential skills:

  • A friendly personality and someone who enjoys speaking with people.

  • Excellent written communication – grammar, sentence structure, capitalisation, punctuation and spelling.

  • Strong verbal communication – polite, caring, courteous, empathetic and a good listener.

  • A good work ethic.

  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and determined with a strong willingness to learn.

  • Organisational skills: time management and prioritisation.

  • A team player.

  • A methodical worker. There are important procedures associated with booking forms and updating data which require attention to detail.


Desirable skills:

  • Sales experience of any kind (not of an aggressive nature).

  • Marketing knowledge.


Duties will include:                    

  • Calling relevant companies to offer them the opportunity to advertise their products/ services within a relevant publication (ie; contacting a company that produce fertiliser to see if they may like to advertise that product within an allotment magazine).

  • Managing various advertising sections of your own. Database provided as well as self lead generation.

  • Cold calling as well as ‘warm’ calls to previous/ existing advertisers.

  • Maintaining existing client base.


Crest Publications has been established for over 25 years. We are currently a small team of seven who are looking for another individual to join our existing, friendly bunch. We produce magazines and journals for horticultural societies, yacht clubs, the British Military, local community magazines and other unique sectors.
